The main function of the stabilizing boxes is to reduce paper instability at the drying section, and therefore reduce paper breaks.
The blowing boxes or pocket ventilation boxes can also have the stabilization function, but also contribute a lot to improve evaporation rate at the pockets. Its installation usually allows higher machine production or drying energy savings, as well as improves paper quality.
These equipment are usually used at the outlet of the press sections, but also commonly used in the entire drying section of a paper machine. They are a must for wide and fast machines.
